On Sunday 5th July, Fine & Country welcomed nearly 4,000 attendees to watch 14 teams compete for the seventh Fine & Country Gold Cup, at Dallas Burston Polo Club.
In typical British style, attendees lunched on picnics and sipped Pimms as they watched Rigby & Rigby claim the winning title. Ella Cloake of Dallas Burston Polo Club said, “The Gold Cup lived up to all expectations this year and despite the typically British weather, there was great support from the crowd for the teams competing. Congratulations to Rigby & Rigby who came out victorious and won this year’s coveted Gold Cup.”
Starting seven years ago, with Fine & Country hosting a local event at the Polo grounds, the event has grown vastly and has established itself to be a distinguished date in the calendar.
Not only was this one of the largest Fine & Country polo events, but the shopping village welcomed back exhibitors including Robusto House, Graypaul Birmingham, Jacuzzi, Little Posh Dress Company and Core Clinics. A children’s entertainment area was also organised with trampolining, fairground rides, a fun house and a chance for children to meet some of the polo ponies, making it a truly family event. Dallas Burston Polo Club also showcased the new Champagne Laurent-Perrier bar, situated on the Clubhouse terrace.
Attendees donated their car parking fee to the Fine & Country Foundation which is dedicated to fighting homelessness. In total the Foundation raised £5,600 in charitable donations.
David Lindley, Fine & Country Operations Manager said, “It was a pleasure to once again host the Fine & Country Gold Cup. Now in its seventh year the event is going from strength to strength. With the launch of Fine & Country’s new equestrian department, the event was a great chance for attendees to experience a competitive day of polo and learn more about the bespoke marketing and unique lifestyle departments Fine & Country can offer. Congratulations to the winners Rigby & Rigby who braved the British weather to win a thrilling tournament.”
