On Sunday 8 December 2019, The Fine & Country Foundation hosted their annual 'Carols By Candlelight' at the iconic King’s College Chapel in the heart of Cambridge.
The event was a huge success with £20,210 raised through ticket sales and donations from the public. The money raised will be going to four local homeless charities: Emmaus, Wintercomfort, Jimmy’s Cambridge and Cyrenians.
Fine & Country CEO, David Lindley, said: “The response to the event was remarkable with over 700 people in attendance on the night, which surpassed last year’s event by more than 200 attendees. The result is that we were delighted to raise over £20,000 through the Fine & Country Foundation for our four amazing local partner charities who are doing such good work to help alleviate homelessness in Cambridge.”
Neil Wise, Managing Director of Fine & Country Ware, who managed the organisation of the event, said: “We had 683 tickets sold before the event and more were sold at the door. We also received donations from generous people who wished to do more for the charities we support. There were also those who gave up their time to help steward the event and to ensure the event ran as smoothly as possible. All in all, it was a great success and a night to remember. Kings Voices choir were amazing; the whole event was atmospheric and a perfect start to everyone’s Christmas season.”
He continues, “This was our second year at Kings College and combined we have raised over £35,000 for local homeless charities. This spectacular event in this world-renowned venue has become one of the highlight events in the Fine & Country Foundation’s calendar and one of the most significant contributions to our cause of raising £1million for all the worthy causes in the UK and around the world. We hope to continue to work with Kings College Cambridge for many years to come.”
If you missed out on tickets for this years' event, keep an eye out for them going on sale in November 2020. We hope to see you there next year.
