Bury St Edmunds 200 mile sponsored cycle ride

Bury St Edmunds 200 mile sponsored cycle ride

Between the 26th and 28th May members of the Bury St Edmunds office will be taking on the mammoth task of cycling 200 miles over two and a half days. Their aim is to cycle from their office to Fine & Country York.

The team of four will be accompanied by a van driven by family and friends to go ahead and set up refreshments. Just behind the cyclists there will be a safety car to ensure they are seen and safe on the roads.

Bobbi Findlay, Client Consultant at Bury St Edmunds, explained the intense training that has already begun. “We are trying to get out as much as possible on evenings and weekends. We are grateful that it is still light until 8.30pm, but we have noticed that our social life is slowly being consumed by cycling”.

Bobbi continued to explain, “It’s definitely all worthwhile though; when we spoke to our director Neil, who is already a keen cyclist, we were expecting him to arrange a 20-30 mile sponsored cycle. A few days later he came back to us proposing his plans for our 200 mile journey. We were tempted to just let him take on this challenge, but we couldn’t let down him or the Foundation down. Also, the intrigue of the challenge took hold of me so now I want to prove to myself that I can do it!”.

All of us here at the Fine & Country Foundation have no doubt that the team will all do a magnificent job and arrive in York triumphant. Good luck to Neil Pettit, Yannis Prodromou, Kelly Law and Bobbi Findlay.

All proceeds of the sponsored cycle will go to the Fine & Country Foundation to help fight homelessness on local, national and international levels. All these challenges help to make a real difference, not only to homeless networks across the country and the world, but also to the Fine & Country Foundation which aims to raise £1,000,000 in a year.

If you have an event or challenge that you would like to take part in on behalf of The Fine & Country Foundation let us know here. We welcome all kinds of events and love to see your ideas come alive.

Or, if you would rather join a more relaxed event rather than take part in a challenge then there are plenty of upcoming events for you to come along to, including coffee mornings, fashion shows, polo and many more across the country. Click here to see what we have coming up.
