Lighting up Rugby: Fine & Country Rugby Christmas Lights Switch On

It’s that time of year again; the whole town will be putting on their coats, hats and scarves and making their way through the chilly night towards the town centre for the annual “Rugby Christmas Lights Switch On”. On Sunday 19th November, Fine & Country Rugby will be greeting hundreds of residents from Rugby and any passers-by who have come to watch the spectacular show. 

Pixie Lott, singer and songwriter, will be the guest of honour at this year’s show. Best known for her chart-topping songs, including “Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)” and “Boys and Girls”, and her appearance on BBC 1’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2014. 

Fine & Country Rugby will be opening their doors from 2pm on Sunday 19th November and selling a variety of refreshments on their stall. Cakes, snacks, teas and coffees will be a taste of the items available. They will also be hosting games and a raffle with numerous prizes. Raffle prizes include:

A one hour session for two people on the Infinite Pixel’s VR experience

A photo shoot from Venture Studios 

A free round of golf of four people at Whitefields Golf Club

An ironing voucher from Board Stiff

An interactive developmental learning book from Relax Kids Rugby

A Manicure or pedicure from Laura’s Lashes

A children’s party package from Itsy & Bitsy Ltd

A fresh festive door wreath from Albetine Floral Design

Tickets are priced at £2 each, or a strip of 3 for £5. To purchase raffle tickets please contact Claire Heritage on 01788 820 070, or put your donations onto their Just Giving page here and email them at rugby@fineandcountry.com with the number of tickets you have purchased so that they can be allocated to you. All donations generated on JustGiving or on the day will be given to Hope4. This local homeless charity has been supported by Fine & Country Rugby through monthly donations and numerous fundraisers. In 2016, the office raised an incredible £423.56 for Hope4 at the Christmas Lights Switch On and plan to make this year even better. 

Lilian Francis, General Fundraiser at Hope4 said, "The Christmas lights show was a really fun event last year and we are so grateful to Fine & Country Rugby for their ongoing support. They are always so enthusiastic and have a great attitude so I know that this year will be another fantastic event. 

"The donations from Fine & Country and their fundraisers are helping us with our general overheads. This includes everything from our heating bills to buying new sleeping bags. Thank you for all your support, you are continuing to make a considerable difference to the our users."
